Lino prints take time and patience, carving out each layer, adding colour and then printing it all stage by stage. My latest creations loaded to my Etsy site and are a series of flower prints. Flowers I love, poppies and magnolia, that are the essence of springtime. The images vary in colour, so each design is quite original.

Busy of late…
I’ve been a bit busy of late, I got a wonderful marriage proposal. So I’ve had lots of madness! Now things have calmed down slightly and the weather is better, I though it was about time I listed some of my card designs on etsy. I have only posted up a few, but there are many more to come.
For anyone who might be interested follow the link in the side panel. (veryberries)
Card Designs
Over the weekend I added to my growing collection of card designs. I had to sit with my GCSE Art class for 10 hours in silence, and believe me thats a long time. I started a new style of card, incorporating hand stitching along with vintage fabrics.
Design Style 1.
Design Style 2.
I am happy with both styles and every card is a complete one off, so that must count for something. I’m just waiting on my lovely logo stamp, then up on Etsy at long last and fingers crossed people will love them.
Buzzy Bee Finished
At last I have finished and framed my bee piece. I added a few sections I hadn’t planned on, clouds and a little fly. I also used a wider variety of fabrics, some vintage and some from an old cashmere jumper. It took a while to get a frame that wasn’t to deep. I found Atlantis Arts the best place, though they aren’t varnished or painted.
I found it tricky to attach board, and ended up attaching it to wadding then mount board. If anyone has great tips on framing embroidery I’d love to here from you.

Stitching
I’ve been spending time practicing different types of stitches, I’m a bit rusty and thought I’d take some inspiration from doodle stitch. I have designed my own similar to those in the book. Quite happy with it, but there is alway room for improvement.
Buzzy Bee
Its been raining today, so I got to work on this little embroidery. A small amount still to finish, the flower, grass and deciding if to back it or mount with fraying edges. thinking of completing a series of the bee and small cashmere wool flower design on purses and cards. More and more things in my to do list, not sure where I’ll get the time when I’m back at work next week.

Projects
Today I have to stay in for a parcel, so I thought it was about time I got back to my half finished projects. I’ve had this flower embroidery on the go for a while, its been starring at me wanting to be finished. I’m not to happy with it at the moment, my stitching is a little messy and it looks nothing like my designs.
My second project is a series of designs including little bees. I’m trying out different fabrics and designs for bees at the moment. I like this flowery yellow fabric.
I need to get all my projects finished before I go back to work next week. I doesn’t feel like I’ve had three weeks off work, if only I had three more.
Samples
All my lovely card samples arrived today, spoilt for choice on which to go for. Think I’m going to choose an off white slightly textured, it will set off the textiles nicely.

All it means now is I will have to get busy busy busy making loads of new designs.

At Work!
I spent the day at work today. Its the holidays, sunny outside for the first time in ages and I went into school. My dedication amazes me sometimes.
I created two new softies and a whole load of card designs. The softies are still in the practice stages as I keep making so may silly mistakes. I did quite a few sketches and am trying to give them all a common theme.

What do you think? I had a few problems as I used t’shirt fabric and then forgot to sew the face on before stitching it together, I guess its all just practice and whatever you find easy.
Mess Mess Mess
Well I have made so much mess today, sometime I really wish I had a bigger flat. Though can’t complain the sun has been shining, birds tweeting and spring is almost here. I decided to sort out all my craft things, iron my fabric and get making. I finished off all my cards, all i need now is my stamp to arrive before i can list them on etsy.

I still have lots of work in the making, so tomorrow I’m off into work, where i have a bit more space to create my amazing mess.

I’m quite happy with this little landscape, so am planning to create a series to sell shortly.
